ABOUT OSKAR GAMERO

Oskar Gamero is a percussionist based in El Paso, Texas. He began playing music at the age of five and, from a young age, demonstrated a special interest in percussion instruments, inspired by watching his father perform. Oskar has been entertaining audiences across the Southwest for over 25 years. His solo project integrates music from various decades, creating a sound that is perfect for both dancing and relaxing. His unique playing style combines Latin jazz and Afro-Cuban rhythms. Currently, Oskar is the percussionist for Radio La Chusma, a band that breaks down barriers of age, race, language, and religion. Their “Frontera Reggae” sound elevates reggae vibrations to a whole new level. For the past 22 years, Radio La Chusma has inspired crowds with their high-energy performances, playing over 80 to 100 shows a year and cultivating a strong following. The band has shared the stage with renowned artists such as The Doobie Brothers, WAR, Steel Pulse, The Itals, The Wailing Souls, Jaguares, El Gran Silencio, La Santa Cecilia, Maldita Vecindad, Pato Banton, and Ozomatli, among others.
